Discuss how is fear created using these?
Shot reverse shot:
In the shot reverse shot we can do a close up and then focus on where the light is coming from, this is to emphasize the fact there is a threat.
Position of tripod:
In the position of the tripod you can do a low angle shot of where the light is coming from, whereas if you keep the shots the same they will be boring.
Shot length:
When he gets possessed by the light and turns into a demon the speed of the shot change quickens, just like the end of the clip of The Ring.
Shot type:
Close up of the mans face when he sees the light to show his reactions and emotion
Shot angle:
There are different angles used, such as long shots to show the mise-en scene, close ups to show the reaction, eye line to show the characters point of view.
Colour:
We are filming in a house therefore we can not make the house a different colour, but we can change the costume of the character so that they are dark colours and make the film more scary.
Lighting:
The lighting is the key feature in our project as the light is the threat. In a normal horror film, the character goes away from the light and goes into the darkness but in ours the main character is going into the light.
